The Q&A Archives: Cactus And Sunlight

Question: I would like to know if there is a type of cactus that needs very little light.

Answer: The so-called "forest cacti" -- which includes the familiar Christmas cactus -- will thrive without lots of direct sun, but they still need to be placed in a bright spot, such as an east-facing window. There are no cacti that I know of that can survive with very little light.
