The Q&A Archives: Fine Webbing on New Rose Growth

Question: My miniature rose has developed fine webbing on the new growth; then after a while the leaves lose their color and fall off. I can't see any spiders or other pests, however. Any idea what's wrong?

Answer: It sounds like your rose is suffering from spider mites. These are very tiny and leave a fine webbing on the leaves and stems. To control them, use insecticidal soap according to the label instructions being careful to spray all surfaces of the foliage and stems.
