The best strawberry cultivars for our low desert gardening conditions are 'Chandler' and 'Camarosa' according to the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. A study showed that strawberries planted in late August produced more fruit weight than those planted later in early October and mid-October. Other cultivars that can be grown here include Sequoia and Tioga. Hope this info helps!
