Answer: You have several options to consider. I am not sure if you will find tomato plants that late, either. You might ask a nursery to hold some for you -- and move them into larger pots so they don;t become stunted. You might purchase some and plant them now and ask a friend to keep an eye on them while you are gone. You might try planting tomato seeds now (or when you get back); the plants should grow and produce for you this summer -- it takes about two months or so, but indeterminate plants will produce until frost.
