The Q&A Archives: Pansies -- Annuals or Perennials?

Question: Will the fall plant pansies (pg 35 bulb sale catalog) come back year after year? Do they self seed, or are they perennials? Karen Windhusen Beaver City, NE

Answer: In warmer climates, pansies may be perennial, though they are often treated like annuals, with new plants used each year. They do, however, readily self-sow, so you will see plants pop up in various spots the following years.
