I have a aloe variegata, partridge-breasted aloe. It seems very healthy, though I just noticed that at its base it is somewhat soft and brown. I don't over water it, I know that. Can you help? |
ALoe vera is known for its sturdy constitution and lack of problems. In addition to the two primary cultural causes for broaning (too much direct sunlight can cause the leaves to brown as can overwatering), there is an occasional case of "bacterial soft rot" at the base. You can see a photo of that and two other aloe problems at the following web page http://cygnus.tamu.edu/Texlab/... on aloe. |
