I recently bought a rose tree and planted it in my yard about a month ago, I have not seen any leaves or buds on the tree. I'm not sure if the tree is dead or if it is in a dormant stage still. How can I be sure the tree is still alive and how soon should I see some type of growth on it?

I would expect to see some growth by now; the buds should be plump and firm and so should the canes, if it is still alive. The canes should still be green, as well. If it seems alright, continue to keep the soil evenly moist and hope for thebest. If not, and if you followed the supplier's planting instructions carefully, you might want to contact the supplier about the rose.
