I have some dogwood trees that I planted about a year and half ago. The trees were very small about 2 to 2 and 1/2 feet in height. I am sure I can still dig them up. Question when is the best time to do this and transplant them? |
Trees and shrubs transplant best when the weather is cool and wet. Early spring or early autumn are first choices. Although your trees aren't large, the root systems are probably firmly established in the ground. Soak the soil thoroughly the day before the planned move and digging will be easier. Make the move as quickly as possible and water the trees well after the move. Plan to provide water once each week until your trees become re-established in their new garden sites. |
