I am going to plant a Japanese maple in a pot it is 15-18 inches tall now , can u tell me how much it will grow a year , I know they grow slow , but I was just wondering how many inches they will grow a year |
The answer to your question depends on which specific type of Japanese maple it is. Some of them grow rather quickly when young, usually the types that ultimately reach the relatively larger upright size and shape. For these I would guesstimate about a foot a year, in a pot possibly more in the ground. The dwarf types however may grow only a few inches a year, especially in the less than perfect conditions they experience confined in a pot. |
