Clematis viticella 'Pupurea Plena Elegans' has double, softly purple or mauve flowers. The viticella or Italian clematis flowers hang downward a bit like bells. This clematis blooms late in the season on the current year's growth so it should be pruned back hard each spring. Other care would include planting it in a rich, evenly moist yet well drained soil that is high in humus content, mulching the root zone to help keep the soil cool and moist, and watering carefully during the initial establishment years. Clematis prefer to have plenty of sun but will also tolerate some shade.
