Getting Rid Of Shumak Trees - Knowledgebase Question

I recently bought a house and in the backyard are tons of shumak trees and I cut them down and I dug up some roots but I still get little shhots coming up all the time how can I rid myself of these pesty trees ?

Sumac can be difficult to control because of the shoots that spring up from the root system. Repeated cutting may eventually be effective, or mowing if they are in the lawn area, but for more consistent results you may want to use an herbicide containing glyphosate. Be careful to follow the label instructions carefully and use the correct formulation for brush.
