I have tried to grow eggplant in the past. They grow wonderfully to the point where the fruit starts to develope. The fruit gets to about 4" and then the flea beetles attack the plants, make lace out of the leaves and the plants die. How can I control these beetles (preferably without chemicals)? |
Covering the plants with a light, summer weight row cover early in the season will exclude the flea beetles. Be careful too to clean up and remove weeds in and around the garden each fall to limit the number of pests wintering over. |
