| I would like to plant junipers in an area that is very shady approximately 90% of the day. After reading some of the other Q&A's I get the feeling that this is out of the question. Is this true or is there a type that not only grows but thrives in shade? |
| Junipers thrive in full sunshine, in average garden soil that drains quickly. They simply will not survive in a shady garden bed. Instead of junipers, why not consider azalea, skimmia, pieris, euonymus or daphne odora? You'll get the added bonus of seasonal blooms with these shrubs and they'll thrive in full shade. |
