What perennials would thrive in a very wet spot of our yard? It is a very sunny area, but there must be a spring underground.

For a truly wet area you might consider some of the bog plants such as marsh marigold or one of the iris that like water: Japanese iris (I. ensata), Siberian iris (I. siberica), or Yellow water iris (I. pseudoacorus). You might also experiment with some other plants that will tolerate a certain amount of excess moisture such as hemerocallis, astilbe, monarda, black-eyed Susan, hosta and lobelia.
