| I have a group of veronica planted together on a bank. they get plenty of water and runoff from rains. They are growing nicely and have pretty flowers but near the bottom of every plant the leaves are brown and so is the stalk. What is the problem? Is it a fungus, insect, or not enough water or too much. |
| Veronica does not tolerate a soggy soil but since yours are planted on a bank, drainage should not be a problem. Veronica can be attacked by mildew and by leaf spot problems especially in wet weather. Try to remove and destroy any infected foliage and make sure the plants are not too close together. Improved air circulation and some sunny weather should help. Avoid overhead watering especially in the evenings and also be sure to clean up around the plants this fall to reduce the chance of carryover to next year. |
