| The trees should be kept quite cool in order to gain their required chill period, but the roots should not be allowed to freeze. They may require some pruning during the winter and possibly some preventive spraying just as trees outdoors would need routine care. Your local county extension (885-8995) can advise you as to the suggested routine for the varieties you are growing based on disease suscepibilities of your trees and problem prevalences in your area. Finally, keep the soil barely moist but not sopping wet or bone dry. Good luck with your trees! |
