The Q&A Archives: Time To Transplant?

Question: I planted a peony 18 months ago and now realize it is in the wrong location. When can I transplant to a more suitable spot in the garden? Thanks!

Answer: Peony plants can be transplanted in late summer or fall, when the foliage dies back and the plants go dormant. Be as gentle as possible with the peony plants; they are sensitive and can be difficult to transplant.
