I planted a peony 18 months ago and now realize it is in the wrong location. When can I transplant to a more suitable spot in the garden? Thanks!

Peony plants can be transplanted in late summer or fall, when the foliage dies back and the plants go dormant. Be as gentle as possible with the peony plants; they are sensitive and can be difficult to transplant.
