It now has little flowers on it, looks very pretty, but can't help thinking i should have picked it already. First time i've grown broccoli...all other plants are doing great. need help, thanks.

Broccoli is a cool season crop so it is usually started very early, transplanted to the garden well before the last expected frost and then harvested before the weather turns hot. Unfortunately, once it bolts or goes to flower, it tastes bitter and is usually not worth eating. The good news is that it can be grown as a fall crop so you can try again this year. You will need to plant it sometime in July or August depending on the variety you grow.
