How often do you water grapes during the summer months in Central Northern California (hot and dry), and how deep?

Grape plants are reasonably drought tolerant, but they do need a deep soaking about once a week during the hottest weather. Try to apply water slowly so it has a chance to soak in. If you use a sprinkler, place a tuna or cat food can on the soil surface near the grapes. Then time to see how long the sprinkler takes to fill the can up with one-inch of water. That's how long you'll need to keep the sprinkler running to provide enough water to your grapes.
