The Q&A Archives: Sunflower Plants

Question: When you cut the flower of a sun flower will it grow back like other plants or do you need to start all over?

Answer: There are two kinds of sunflower plants; those with multiple stems that bare multiple flowers and those with a single stem which bares a single flower. If your sunflower plant has more than one stem, you can cut the flowers and the other stems will produce flowers. If your plant has only one stem, the flower it produces will be the only flower it will produce. If you cut the flower off, the stem will not produce another flower.
