Why are my tomatoe plants turning yellow at the base of the plant?

There are a number of reasons why this could happen, ranging from overwatering to the beginning of a disease problem to an infestation of aphids. Additional possibilities include nutrient deficiencies. You might want to examine the plants carefully for additional signs of distress and then consult with your county extension (305-5742) or check the Q&A archive for a more specific diagnosis and suggested remedies.
