| Do you carry mosquito plants in your invetory or do you know who does? Can you only purchase them certain times of the year? Are they perennials or annuals? I am having a hard time finding any information. |
| There are several plants commonly called "mosquito plant" and they are usually one form or another of the scented geranium such as lemon-scented geranium (Pelargonium crispum) or the "Citrosa" scented geranium, also a Pelargonium variety. These are not cold hardy plants so they must be wintered over indoors like a houseplant or replaced each spring. You may find them for sale as herbs or as houseplants, too. As with many annuals, it is easier to find them in the spring, although they may be available from Richters Herbs, Goodwood, ONT. Canada L0C 1AO 905-640-6677 ( http://www.richters.com/ ). Do keep in mind that these are not terribly effective in repelling mosquitoes and do not release their fragrance unless bruised. |
