Dahlias do best in full sun, in rich soil and with ample water. You might try a top dressing of compost and/or a complete granular fertilizer along with a foliar feed of manure tea or a water soluble fertilizer. (Follow label instrucitons if you use fertilizer, and do not provide excess nitrogen.) Also, make sure the soil is kept evenly moist yet not sopping wet. Dahlias usually come into their own about mid summer, so there should be more blooms soon.
