I can think of several common reasons for why strawbereries might wilt. Established plants will look a bit wilty and straggly once the strawberries season has passed, especially if they are in need of renewal. Newly planted plants need an evenly moist (but not soggy) soil to help establish a good root system. When stressed due to lack of water, they will wilt. Using a mulch can help reduce watering needs during dry weather. Finally, if they are severely wilted, they may be affected by verticillium wilt which is a serious disease.
