The Q&A Archives: Poppies Started From Peat Pellets

Question: Can I start my poppy's in peat pellets this winter to plant in spring?

Answer: Poppies don't especially like being transplanted, but you may have success if you plant them in peat pots or peat pellets. Then, when they're ready for transplant, you can plant the entire pot or pellet without disturbing the roots.

Start your seeds 6-8 weeks before the average last frost date in your area.
