I am growing the water melon variety "Moon and Stars", which ripens with a dark green rind, with one large yellow spot (the moon), and a bunch of smaller yellow spots ( the stars). And I was wondering if the yellow spots on the leaves are a result of the variety, a lacking nutrient, and/or fungus?

You can rest easy -- bright yellow leaf spots are normal for 'Moon & Stars'.
