Perennial Petunia - Knowledgebase Question

Two part question: (1) would perennial variety of petunia do well in the northeast, and if so; (2) where can I find either the plants or seeds?

The wild petunia or Ruellia humilis should be hardy in your area but it will bloom beginning only in late summer. It is difficult to find but here is a possible source: Prairie Nursery Inc., Westfield, WI Ph: 800-476-9453 or http://www.prairienursery.com/ In my experience this plant is not comparable in performance to the annual petunias we often grow in that it would not be suitable for the same uses.
