I planted a black walnut tree about a month and a half ago, it is not growing at all. It still looks like the day I put it there. It was planted with topsoil, peat moss and sheep manure. The soil here is clay and quite acidic. Where have I gone wrong?

I'm not sure you've done anything unusual to your walnut tree. I suspect it's becoming adjusted to its new home and putting out some new root growth instead of stems and leaves. Continue to water it deeply once each week throughout the growing season and by next spring it should sprout lots of new leaves and stems.
