Slugs can be controlled in a number of ways. First off, avoid watering in the evening because they like that moisture. You can sprinkle diatomaceous earth on the soil between the plants, set out saucers baited with beer or commercial slug traps with the same bait, you can hand pick them at night by flash light and drop them into soapy or salty water, you cna encourage their natural predators (such as toads, snakes and birds) or you can use commercial slug bait. Be careful to read and follow the label instructions carefully, especially if you have small children or outdoor pets.
