WE HAVE JUST ADDED A TRELLES TO OUR GARDEN ENTRANCE. WE WOULD LIKE TO GROW SOME CLEMATIS ON IT. WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW OF ANY OTHER COMPATABLE VINES WE COULD GROW ALONG WITH THE CLEMATIS. THIS IS A PART SHADE AREA. WHAT OTHER COMBINATIONS OF VINES COULD WE USE?

Most vines actually prefer full sun, so a clematis is a good choice for that location. There are many types of clematis and some bloom early, some mid season and some later in the season. Some will also rebloom. You mgiht try mixing two or even three mid to small varieties to extend the season. The vines are a bit sensitive so I would not recommend mixing the larger more rampant vines in with them.
