| Something is eating holes in our Hostas leaves we have put on Bug-Geta slug & snail killer . not sure if this is working or could it be something else? ( possibly earwigs, ????) |
| Usually the cause for holes is slugs; they work at night so you may not see them, but you should be seeing silvery slime trails near or on the plants. A sprinkling of diatomaceous earth on the soil around the plants usually works well to control them. Additional controls would be traps baited with stale beer and hand picking at night and dropping them into salty or soapy water, as well as the commercial baits. Another possible cause for holes, though, is hail damage. |
