This is the first year I did not cut back my Chrysanthemums. Last year the we had a draught and they did not grow back well after they were cut back. One of my plants is covered with buds now, and it is only mid-July. Is it too late to cut back now?

Since it has already formed buds, you might let it go ahead and bloom and then cut it back in the hope of getting a second flush of flowers from it later this fall. Usually they are pinched or cut back several times with the last cut being done by early to mid July so that there is ample time remaining for the plant to set buds for fall.
