Lisianthus is Eustoma grandiflorum, or Texas Bluebell. It grows in full sunshine and produces tulip-shaped flowers in purplish blue, pink, or white. Plants like rich garden soil, good drainage, and average fertilizing. You can plant in pots, or use in a border or cutting garden. If planting in the garden, allow plenty of room for the clumps of foliage and 1 1/2 foot flowering stems. Lisianthus is a biennial or short-lived perennial, but you can allow the dust-like seeds to scatter themselves in the garden plot for continued bloom. |
