The Q&A Archives: Cosmos

Question: I planted cosmos from seed in early June. When do I expect to see flowers? Do the leaves look like weeds? I've never planted this before and I need your help.

Answer: Cosmos foliage is fine and almost feathery; the plants grow quickly and shoot straight up. They do take some time to come into bloom, and love hot sunny weather, so I would look for flowers some time in the coming month.
