The Q&A Archives: Yellow Thistle

Question: While at my sister in laws for the fourth of July. I saw a plant similar to a thislte. But it had a yellow tuft flowering. It looked similar to the shape of a pineapple, the flower head. She couldn't remember what it was nor can I find it in any of my catalogues. If someone knows of this variety of plant please let me know. It was very unique looking.

Answer: It is possible she had planted Centaurea macrocephala--Globe Centaurea, a large perennial with yellow flowers.
