The Q&A Archives: Catnip Care

Question: When the catnip goes to sleep in fall. What should I do to the plant for when it comes back in spring. Should I cut it or leave it alone?

Answer: In the fall after frost has killed back the top, trim the dead stems and foliage away. In the spring, tidy the plant again if needed and apply some compost or a complete granular fertilizer such as 10-10-10 according to the label instructions.
