I have several scotch broom shrubs that bloomed beautifully the past several years. Now they all seem to be dying. This has happened before. Do these plants have a life span, they seem to die after three or four years? |
In my experience the plants do tend to be somewhat short lived, and die out in clumps and patches. Cutting them back periodically may help, and allowing seedlings to grow and replenish the planting can also be effective. Plants grown on a heavy clay soil seem to be more prone to this than those grown on poor sandy soil. |
