I'm going to plant a Fuyu persimmon. What kind of
fertilizer should I use and how often?

Persimmons are adapted to a wide variety of soil types, have almost no pest or disease problems, and can be pruned to keep the plant small (for ease in harvest). They are not heavy feeders but you can fertilize once each spring with a 5-10-10, broadcasting about a half-cup (per 1" of trunk diameter) on the soil under the dripline and raking it in lightly.
