The Q&A Archives: Strawberry Patch

Question: My strawberry patch is 3 years old. I planted Everbearing Strawberries. Unfortunately, I only get berries in June/early July. Most of the strawberries are small.
How can I get larger berries?

Answer: Strawberry patches should be renewed about every three years so your plants may need to be replaced, especially if production has dropped this year. You can keep the bed in a constant state of renewal by allowing the runners to take root and then removing and discarding plants that are 3 or more years old.
