I have planted portulaca in a strawberry pot and also in a hanging basket. Should I deadhead them as the blooms fade? Will this increase the blooms? Thank you for your answer.

Portulaca is one of those "easy-care" plants that requires no deadheading. The petals will fall away from the spent blooms all on their own. The plants have a reputation for self-sowing, though, so if you don't want seeds to form (and spill into the bed), you can remove the spent blooms. Portulaca will bloom through late autumn whether or not you deadhead, so the choice is yours.
