How can I tell when tomatillos are ready to pick?

Tomatillos take about 65 days to mature. Harvest when the light-brown papery husk has folded back to reveal the golden berry. A good indication that the fruit is mature is that ripe fruit will fall to the ground. Check your fruit to see what stage it is in and then watch for falling tomatillos. As soon as the husk has folded back on its own or you see fallen fruit, it's time to harvest!
