| I have fed the bush rose fertilizer two times in the last two months and the leaves are not a deep green. What do I need to do? |
| Roses prefer to grow in slightly acidic soil. If your soil is too alkaline the nutrients you provide through fertilizer applications will not be available to the plants. Have your soil tested to make sure it falls between 5.8 and 6.2 on the pH scale so your roses get full benefit of the nutrients you supply. Yellow leaves with green veins indicates an iron deficiency. The fastest way to correct this is to apply a liquid fertilizer containing chelated iron to the entire plant, including leaves and stems. Be sure to follow label directions - some manufacturers recommend not spraying if the plants need water or if temperatures are over 85F. |
