I have some Black Eyed Susan flower seeds and I am wondering when it is best to plant them? And, how do I do it right, step by step? |
Rudbeckia, or Black-eyed Susan seeds can be sown outdoors 2 weeks before your last frost date or indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. For indoor starting, sow seeds on the surface of moistened seed starting mix. Provide light and temperatures of 70F to 75F degrees. Seedlings will appear in 5-21 days. For outdoor sowing, prepare the garden bed by digging and smoothing the soil. Sow seeds on the soil surface and just barely cover with peatmoss or very fine compost. Water to keep the seedbed moist. Seeds will sprout in one to three weeks. |
