I need help identifying a plant. It has leaves like salvia. The flowers are the texture and color of salvia...bright orange, yellow, and magenta. But the flowers are shaped like BRAINS! I'm not kidding. They are curly and bumpy and large. Any idea what this interesting, fuzzy, flower is? If so could you also tell me how to care for it and whether or not it's an annual? |
I think you're describing Cockscomb Celosia. It's an annual plant growing best in full sunshine and average soil. It reaches about 9" in height so it's great for a sunny border. The flowers are so unusual and so brightly colored that it certainly gets attention when planted along a sidewalk! |
