The Q&A Archives: Recipe for Insecticidal Soap

Question: Can you please tell me the ratio of water and soap for soap spray to kill insects? Thank you. Dennis Leiker

Answer: I'd suggest you start with a ratio of 1 teaspoon liquid soap (such as Ivory) to one quart of water. This should be fine for most insects. Be sure you test spray a few leaves first before spraying the whole plant. Sometimes the plants have a phytotoxicresponse to soap sprays.
