My basil plants flowered while I was away on vacation. I want to know if I can cut it back for one last harvest.
I live near the shore and are fall is usually mild until November. How far back shall I cut them?

You can cut them back hard, then fertilize and water them to encourage new growth. If they have gone so far as to set seed, however, the plants may not recover well. You could also consider setting out new plants if you think there will be no frost until November.
