Answer: Jade plants do well in a very bright location with a moderate amount of water. Rinse the plant occasionally in tepid water to keep the leaves from getting too dusty. During the growing season, spring and summer, fertilize with a water soluble fertilizer for foliage houseplants according to the label instructions.

Hibiscus also need a very bright location, especially if you want it to keep flowering during the winter. Provide it with as much light as possible and keep it out of drafts both hot and cold. Fertilize with a water soluble houseplant fertilizer for blooming houseplants according to the label instructions during the growing season and, if it is in a very bright location indoors, during the winter as well. Check the plant periodically for pests, particularly spider mites. If you find these, wash it in tepid water and/or treat with insecticidal soap according to the label instructions.
