Plants look great, leaves look great, pods look great, but beans are very small. Was watering too much, but cut back and plant improved, but small beans persist. Fertilize with Miracle Grow occasionally, but have cut back just to try that. Tried giving a good talking to, too. Please advise. Thank you. |
Talking to your plants is often good therapy, and sometimes the plants even listen! I suspect the small beans are a result of cultural conditions. Snap beans grow best when there is a constant moisture supply. Light, frequent irrigations are recommended during dry weather. Hold off on the fertilizer (it only encourages lush, green growth - sometimes at the expense of fruit) and give your plants a little time to readjust. You should be seeing nice, plump pods in a week or two. Hope so! |
