The Q&A Archives: Pruning

Question: When is the best time to trim azaleas and rhodendrons?

Answer: Both plants should be pruned back immediately after flowering to allow the formation of flower buds for next year's bloom. If you prune now, you'll lose next year's flower display, so wait until late spring or early summer after the petals fall.
