I have acid loving and alkaline loving plants within close proximity of each other. I would like to give them the nutrients they need, but am not sure how to do that if they are next to each other. Any tips?

I think I'd use a regular garden fertilizer for all the plants and give the acid-lovers an acid based mulch. Peat moss is acidic, as are pine needles. A 2" layer over the root zones directly beneath acid-lovers should satisfy their needs.
